About this role
Swansea stretches from the Gower coast to the valley edge, and an owner who wants a sitter wants one nearby. We are looking for three self-employed pet sitters, for instance one for the centre and Uplands, one for Sketty, Mumbles and the Gower side, and one for Morriston and the north. This is a different job from our dog-walking one.
You look after the dog at the owner's home while the owner is away. Daily visits, nights in the house, holiday cover. You follow the routine they leave, feed the dog, give medication if needed, let it out, walk it, keep it company and send a daily update. Students at the university who stay on in the holidays are a natural fit.
Think of WoofWalk as the shop window and the till, not the boss. We do not employ you or pay a wage, and we do not promise work. Charge what you like per visit and per night. The owner pays through the app and you are paid out to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance cover are down to you. Swansea has no sitting price in our research.
On boarding in Wales
dogs staying at your own address is home boarding, so a council licence must be in place first, and the app shows it separately. At the owner's home, none is needed.
