About this role
One person has already applied to us from Dundee, and that was for dog walking. Here we ask for something else: three self-employed pet sitters who will look after a dog in the owner's own home while the owner is away. A visit a day, a few nights, a week's cover; the owner chooses.
You work to the owner's routine. That means food, fresh water, any medicine, toilet breaks, a walk and some company, then a note each day saying how the dog is.
Public sitter listings in Dundee put a home visit at about £9 to £12. It is a modest market and those are other people's prices; you decide yours, per visit and per night.
You are your own boss on WoofWalk. We run a booking app, so there is no wage, and we do not guarantee work. The owner pays through the app and the money is then paid into your bank. The tax, National Insurance and insurance side of things belongs to you.
Taking dogs into your own home is home boarding. In Scotland a council licence has to come first, and the app lists it as a separate service. Looking after a dog at the owner's home does not need one.
What it costs
nothing to sign up, nothing at all in the first 14 days, then 15% of each booking. Get five of your own clients to join through you and that drops to 10% for life. The clients you bring yourself are on 10% from the start.
You must be over 18. Apply on Find a Job, telling us how much of Dundee and the surrounding area you can cover and whether overnights suit you.
