About this role

Weekday lunchtimes, school holidays, the odd week in

Spain

Leicester owners are away more than they used to be, and their dogs would rather stay at home. We are looking for three self-employed dog sitters. It is not the walking role. The owner is away, and you keep the dog's day going.

Bookings run from a single visit to a week of nights. You follow the instructions left about food, medication, toilet breaks and walks, spend time with the dog and message the owner daily.

WoofWalk is the booking app Leicester owners use. It is not an employer, it pays no wage, and it does not guarantee any work. Name your own price per visit and per night. Owners pay in the app, and the money lands in your bank. Your tax, National Insurance and insurance affairs are yours to run.

For a sense of local rates, public listings show a home visit at about £15 and a night of home boarding at about £31. Those are other sitters' figures, not ours.

A word on licensing. Letting dogs stay at your own address counts as home boarding. A council licence is required before the first booking, and the app treats it as a separate service. House sitting does not need one.

What does it cost? Nothing to join, and nothing taken in your first 14 days. After that WoofWalk's share is 15%. If five of your own clients sign up through you, you pay 10% for life, and anyone you introduce yourself is on 10% from the beginning.

Over 18 only. Apply on Find a Job with the parts of Leicester you can reach, and say whether overnights suit you.
