Join the Team at White Rose Shopping CentreMitie is looking for professional, customer-focused Security Officers to join the team at White Rose Shopping Centre, one of Yorkshire's leading retail and leisure destinations.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, retailers, contractors, and colleagues. Working as part of a dedicated security team, you will help protect people, property, and assets while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations of the centre.

Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Operations

-Carry out regular internal and external patrols of the shopping centre, car parks, and surrounding areas.

-Monitor and respond to incidents including theft, anti-social behaviour, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.

-Operate CCTV and other security systems in accordance with legislation and site procedures.

-Conduct opening and closing procedures and ensure the security of all areas of the centre.

-Complete accurate incident reports, notebooks, and security records.

-Liaise with emergency services, retailers, contractors, and centre management as required.

-Respond promptly and professionally to all security and customer service incidents.

Customer Service

-Provide a visible and approachable security presence throughout the centre.

-Deliver excellent customer service to visitors, retailers, and stakeholders.

-Assist customers with enquiries, directions, and support when required.

-Promote a welcoming environment while maintaining security standards.

Health & Safety

-Identify, report, and take appropriate action regarding health and safety hazards.

-Ensure compliance with site procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.

-Support emergency evacuations and business continuity procedures when required.

-Maintain vigilance and respond proactively to emerging risks and threats.

Compliance & Professional Standards

-Follow all Assignment Instructions, Mitie policies, and client procedures.

-Maintain all required licences, certifications, and training.

-Complete mandatory training and participate in continuous professional development.

-Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and conduct.

What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements

-Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.

-CCTV (PSS) Licence or willingness to obtain if required.

-Previous experience in security, customer service, retail security, or a similar environment.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Strong observational and problem-solving abilities.

-Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

-Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Desirable

-Experience within a shopping centre, retail, or high-footfall environment.

-First Aid qualification.

-Knowledge of incident management and emergency response procedures.

-Experience using CCTV and access control systems.
