About this role
Are you an organised, hands-on HR professional who enjoys improving processes, implementing systems and keeping HR policies up to date?
We're working with a welcoming, down-to-earth business looking for an HR professional to join its small HR team on a maternity cover contract. This is a varied opportunity combining HR systems implementation, policy development and day-to-day HR support, with some employee relations work as part of the role.
You'll be joining a supportive team with a relaxed culture, reporting to the HR Manager and working closely with colleagues across the business.
This is an opportunity to get involved in improving how HR operates, helping to implement systems, review existing processes and ensure policies and procedures remain relevant, accurate and fit for purpose.
Your responsibilities will include
•
Supporting the implementation of new HR systems and processes.
•
Reviewing, updating and developing HR policies and procedures.
•
Helping improve and streamline existing HR processes.
•
Supporting the effective use of HR technology, reporting and employee data.
•
Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
•
Supporting employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance issues as required.
•
Preparing HR documentation, letters and correspondence.
•
Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring HR information is kept up to date.
•
Supporting the HR Manager with wider HR projects and operational priorities.
•
Helping ensure HR practices remain consistent and aligned with current employment legislation.
Employee relations will form part of the role, but the main focus will be on systems, policies and getting HR processes working effectively.
About you
We're looking for someone practical, organised and proactive who enjoys making improvements and taking ownership of their work.
You'll ideally have
•
Previous experience in an HR Officer, HR Advisor or HR Generalist role.
•
Experience reviewing, updating or implementing HR policies and procedures.
•
An interest in HR systems, process improvement and technology.
•
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
•
Good written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate HR documentation.
•
A sound understanding of general HR practices and UK employment legislation.
•
Some experience supporting employee relations matters.
•
A collaborative approach and the confidence to work independently when needed.
CIPD qualifications aren't essential. We're happy to consider candidates who are qualified by experience (QBE) and can demonstrate the right practical HR knowledge.
