This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of South Hampshire College Group (SHCG). Following the launch of our new strategic ambition and curriculum strategy, you will join our Senior Leadership Team as Director of Inclusive Education and SEND, playing a key role in delivering our vision of Creating Better Futures. You will help ensure every learner has the opportunity to participate, achieve, progress and succeed.
At SHCG, inclusion is about much more than specialist support or statutory compliance. It is about the culture you help shape, the leadership you provide, the way we design our curriculum and teaching, and the everyday experiences of learners across our colleges. You will champion high expectations for all, help remove barriers to learning and participation, and ensure every learner is known, valued and supported to fulfil their potential.
With significant change taking place across SEND, inspection, commissioning and funding, this is your opportunity to help SHCG lead the way in developing an ambitious, evidence-informed and sustainable approach to inclusive education. You will provide strategic leadership across Inclusive Education, Additional Learning Support and statutory SEND, ensuring we are well prepared for SEND reform, developments in Ofsted's approach to inclusion and the implications of devolution.
Working across the Group, you will lead the development of our Inclusive Education Strategy, strengthen inclusive curriculum and teaching practice, and ensure effective SEND governance and statutory compliance. You will develop the leadership, systems and professional expertise needed to deliver consistently excellent support, while building strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, employers, specialist providers, health and social care services, learners and families. Through these relationships, you will help create stronger pathways and better outcomes for learners with SEND and additional needs.
We are looking for a visionary, credible and influential leader who combines deep knowledge of SEND and inclusive education with the ability to turn policy and reform into meaningful organisational change. You will bring the leadership and influencing skills to inspire others, an evidence-led approach to improvement, and a clear understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive curriculum design. You will be confident working strategically, influencing practice across a large organisation and bringing people together around a shared ambition.
Above all, you will share our conviction that inclusion is everyone's responsibility. You will have the vision, passion and determination to help us build the culture, capability and practice that make this belief a reality, creating an environment where every learner at SHCG can belong, participate, progress and succeed.
If you are ready to influence strategy, inspire colleagues and make a lasting difference to the experiences and futures of learners, this is your opportunity to help shape what inclusive education looks like across SHCG.
