Ready to take the next step in your kitchen career?
We’re looking for an experienced Chef Supervisor to join our team, supporting the delivery of great food to around 350 customers every day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef or Head Chef who loves being in the kitchen but is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.
You’ll be very much hands-on, supporting the day-to-day preparation and service of food across the site. However, this role offers much more than cooking. You’ll work closely with the Catering Manager and be trained across the key processes, systems and operational responsibilities needed to act as their deputy.
When the Catering Manager isn’t on site, you’ll be the senior member of the team on duty, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the operation.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the preparation, cooking and service of high-quality food
- Helping deliver breakfast, lunch, evening meals and night-shift feeding
- Leading and supporting a team of four Catering Assistants
- Stepping up as the senior team member when the Catering Manager is absent
- Learning the systems and processes required to effectively deputise for the Catering Manager
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen and catering operation
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, hygiene and presentation
- Helping organise workloads and ensuring the team delivers a great service
- Supporting a busy operation serving around 350 customers each day
Who we’re looking for
You’ll already have strong kitchen experience, ideally at Sous Chef or Head Chef level, and you’ll be looking for an opportunity where you can develop beyond the kitchen and build your leadership experience.
You’ll be
- A confident and capable chef with strong food knowledge
- Comfortable taking the lead and supporting others
- Keen to develop your operational and people-management skills
- Organised and able to remain calm in a busy environment
- Passionate about food, quality and customer service
- Someone who enjoys being part of a team while being comfortable taking responsibility when required
The opportunity
This isn't just another chef role. It’s an opportunity to develop into a broader catering leadership position.
You'll gain hands-on experience of the responsibilities normally held by the Catering Manager, giving you the skills and confidence to take that next step in your career, while still doing what you enjoy most: delivering great food and leading a great team.
