Packhouse Operative

Main Duty

• Complete daily workload allocated by the packhouse manager/ packhouse team leader.

• Ensure product is packed into correct packaging and boxes on the line.

• Keep the lines flowing consistently and not causing bottle necks on the lines.

• Understand customer specifications and quality expected for the produce.

• Monitor quality of products on production line.

• Report any machine faults to Packhouse management team.

• Leave the work areas clean and tidy at all times- labels, redundant packaging etc while work is in process, product change over and at the end of the work period.

• Cleaning after the production runs have been completed.

• Knowledge on where to segregate waste material and packaging, recycling wherever possible.

• Reporting all incidents, near misses and accidents to the packhouse manager or team leader as soon as possible for investigation.

• If you are unsure of any action or activity, do not carry out any further work without reference to your manager or team leader.
