About the Role

We’re looking for a Student Experience and Wellbeing Manager to join our Student Experience team reporting to our Director of Student Experience and Wellbeing. This is a vital role in helping learners feel safe, included and supported, removing barriers to learning so they can achieve and progress. As a friendly, supportive and dedicated team, we lead on safeguarding and wellbeing, and support learners through careers guidance, financial support and inclusive practice, working in partnership with learners, colleagues, parents and carers and external agencies to provide support that helps students thrive.

As a Student Experience and Wellbeing Manager at your designated college campus, you will

• Have oversight for the cross-group role of student financial support, managing the Group’s student financial support budget in line with government guidelines and policies.

• Be the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for your college campus and may also be required to lead on safeguarding across group in the absence of the Designated Safeguarding Lead where required.

• Manage and deliver effective support services in relation to student financial support and access to funding for learners across the Group.

• Provide day to day leadership and direction, manage team performance, facilitate cross-functional departmental operations and foster a collaborative, inclusive and high performing team culture.

• Provide regular and timely reports on bursary and where applicable safeguarding and welfare, to assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead and a team of Deputy’s in analysis of effectiveness of provision and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You may also be required to support in either of the other 2 cross-group roles in the absence of said manager where required.

Who We’re Looking For

The role requires someone who can provide strong day-to-day leadership, manage team performance, oversee the student financial support budget in line with government guidelines, and work collaboratively across the Group to support safeguarding, pastoral services, tutorials, enrichment, and equality, diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will bring a relevant degree, strong budget management experience, experience of managing financial support allocations for learners, and the ability to produce detailed performance reports, work to tight deadlines, and influence positively across teams. We are particularly looking for someone who understands the barriers faced by young people and vulnerable adults and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive and collaborative environment that empowers both learners and colleagues.
