About this role

Are you an experienced clinician and educator who is passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare professionals?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Teaching Fellow to join our Physician Associate Programme. This is a teaching-intensive role offering the opportunity to make a visible and lasting contribution to students’ clinical knowledge, professional development and readiness for practice.

You will teach across the programme using a range of interactive and student-centred approaches. These include whole-cohort teaching, problem-based learning, team-based learning and small-group clinical skills teaching. You will help students integrate biomedical and clinical knowledge and develop their clinical reasoning, consultation, communication, examination and practical procedural skills.

We are looking for an experienced clinician who is confident teaching across the breadth of the curriculum and able to translate contemporary clinical practice into engaging, evidence-informed learning. You will contribute to teaching, assessment, student support, curriculum development and programme enhancement, with opportunities to become involved in simulation, educational innovation, scholarship and development projects.

You will be a proactive self-starter who can take ownership of areas of work, manage competing priorities and work independently. Equally, you will enjoy contributing to a close and collaborative programme team within Aston Medical School and working with colleagues across the wider School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biosciences.

Applicants should have substantial post-qualification clinical experience, current professional registration and established experience of teaching healthcare learners. Experience of designing and delivering practical clinical skills teaching is particularly important. A postgraduate qualification in medical or healthcare education is highly desirable, alongside professional recognition such as Fellowship of Advance HE or the Academy of Medical Educators.

If you are an experienced clinician-educator who genuinely enjoys teaching and wants to see the direct impact of your work on students, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Applicants looking for part time hours will be considered.
