About this role
The Oncology and Haematology Directorate consists of Outpatients within the Colney Centre, Mulbarton Ward and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment areas. Paperless processes are in place for chemotherapy treatments and in development for radiotherapy with a dedicated software system including electronic paper records. The department has a year on year increase in new referrals and treatments and has recently expanded the radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment areas.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to join the Norfolk & Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust.
The post is responsible for the effective provision of administrative and clerical duties to support the smooth running of the Oncology & Haematology service and the administrative role of a MDT coordinator for cancer patients.
The post holder will become an integral part of a truly exciting and innovative multidisciplinary team that works collectively for the sole purpose of ensuring that cancer patients are managed in the most appropriate manner for their condition.
This is a role that will open your heart and mind to the truly amazing work the NHS does for its patients whether it is through the day to day running of their care or the truly innovative and exciting research it does to find the treatment strategies of the future.
Knowledge of the NHS performance indicators such as 18 weeks Referral to Treatment (RTT) and cancer targets (62 and 31 day target) is relevant, but the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff from multi-disciplinary teams is even more so.
Ideal candidates will have to demonstrate their experience in organising and prioritising workloads. Successful candidates will receive plenty of support, guidance and learning to carry out the role and will be supported with their learning and development.
