About this role

Pharmacy Technician – Band 4

Fixed-term maternity cover for 12 months | Pharmacy, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals

Join our team

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals on a fixed-term basis for 12 months to provide maternity leave cover. This varied role offers the opportunity to support dispensary and ward-based services while contributing to safe, effective and patient-focused care.

Please note this role will not be eligible for sponsorship as it doesn't meet the minimum salary requirements for a skilled worker visa, therefore you must have appropriate right to work in the UK or your application will not be progressed to the next stage of Recruitment.

Working within a busy hospital pharmacy, you will use your technical knowledge, analytical skills and professional judgement to deliver high standards of service quality, medicines optimisation and patient safety. You will work closely with pharmacy colleagues, clinical teams, wards, patients and external Homecare providers to help ensure medicines are supplied accurately and without unnecessary delay.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Pharmacy Technician, or an experienced technician who is new to hospital pharmacy, to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in a supportive environment. You will be supported by our well-established Education and Training team, with access to structured learning, guidance and development opportunities throughout the placement.

You must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the knowledge and skills required to work safely and accurately in a hospital pharmacy environment. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A commitment to patient-centred care, teamwork, continuous improvement and compliance with legal, professional and organisational standards is essential.
